07 Jul AVA Local Player Spotlight – Haylee Kent & Alisa Kim
June 22, 2017
Seattle, Washington – The 2017 beach season marked the beginning of playing beach volleyball tournaments for Haylee Kent and Alisa Kim. Having played only 3 beach tournaments together as a team, they took Bronze at the AVP First Seattle event. A great accomplishment. Congratulations!
Haylee was born in Seattle and grew up playing indoor volleyball from the age of 7. She started playing beach when she was 14. Standing over 6 feet tall now, she’s the blocker on the team and her partner Alisa Kim plays defense. Alisa was born in California but moved up to Seattle when she was 6. She started playing volleyball indoors in the 2nd grade and started with beach in the 7th grade. We are excited to see their volleyball careers progress and wish them all the best of luck.
For over ten years now, AVA (Alki Volleyball Association) has been promoting the leading series of beach volleyball events at Alki beach in Seattle for all divisions with the goal to create opportunities for local players to improve and grow in their sport and get recognized on a national level. The AVA Junior Championship series of events at Alki starts in May and goes through September. Top finishers in AVA events gain a bid to the AVA Seattle Junior Championships Invitational (first week of August each year), which is the largest beach showcase event in the region, drawing D1 and D2 NCAA beach coaches to scout for talent.
